In 1965,Ji Lin was established with headquarter located at Chang An Elementary School during the construction while the students were distributed as to 8 classes at Chang An, 4 at Chang Chun, and another 4 at Zhong Shan. MR. Zhang Wun Hua was the first principal.

In 1966, the construction was completed with total number of the classes increased to around 50. Language education has been the subject considered the most important ever since. That was also the time when the teachers started to rank first for track events in both 100-meter and 200-meter races.

In 1972, Chen E was the principal. By the time, the total number of the classes has increased to around 70. Besides language, music and PE became subjects that the teachers paid special attention to as well. In sports, not only the teachers kept having excellent performance in both track events and volleyball competitions, but also students had the same in track races. In the meantime, Ji Lin and one of the elementary schools in Japan became sister schools. Our chorus was sent as a representative to visit them.

In 1970, Mr. Qiou Ming Zhe was the principal. This was the time that we reached quite achievements in music education. The gym and swimming pools were established during this period.

In 1987, Ji Lin obtained the champion in the whole country for handball competition. The firm, and excellent foundation has been perfectly set up in both music and PE educations since.

In 1988, Principal Wu Long Rong devoted himself to Ji Lin's art education and had great achievements at that time. The number of classes decreased to around 50 due to the moving of No. 14 City Park and the decline of the neighboring business district.

In 1996, Principal Huang Ji De continued to forward Ji Lin's art education, and also highly supported the training of the school's student handball team.

In 1998, Principal Li Tiao Dong made a great effort to improve the teaching and learning environment and refine the teaching qualities of Ji Lin.

In 2000, the current principal, Ms. Jhang Jin Diao, worked hard on developing a multi-faceted curriculum and diversified activities, which include school chorus, student recorder team, handball team, badminton team, table tennis team, black light theatre, shadow play, lion dance, tae-kwon-do, dancing, etc. Ji Lin applied technologies as well in teaching activities. We constructed class pages on the net and build up a "Ji Lin e-journal" to enhance students' writing abilities. In 2001, the student recorder team won excellent ratings in the west district of Taipei.

In 2002, student folk dance and handball teams were rated number one. Ji Lin was also rated as outstanding in the multi-language competition.
